cvs tricks

To log in with pserver
set $CVSROOT=/export/home/cvsroot (or wherever your cvsroot lives)
cvs -d :pserver:user@server.com:/export/home/cvsroot login
cvs checkout blah
cvs checkin blah
cvs release -d blah

also:
to add a file:
1) check out a directory
2) go into that directory, and put the while where you want it
3) cvs add (-kb if binary) filename
4) cvs commit

adding or changing a password can be done with :
/usr/local/apache/bin/htpasswd /$CVSROOT/CVSROOT/passwd username

importing things originally:
1) cd to the directory rdir where all your files are
2) cvs login
3)
$ cvs import -m "Imported sources" yoyodyne/rdir yoyo start

these files will show up under yoyodyne/rdir
yoyo is the vendor
start is the branch
both are relatively unimportant
