If the anti-gay amendment were to pass

Look at what would be legal and what would not be legal should the anti-gay-marriage amendment pass into constitutional law.

This amendment, of course, would not affect any other decisions, so the recent decision affirming privacy (Lawrence v. Texas) would remain in effect.

Therefore, it would be legal to engage in casual gay sex, but it would be illegal to develop a comitted relationship and decide to enshrine that relationship with the standard protections of marriage.

Some interesting stats:

A Gallup poll:
Homosexual Relations Between Consenting Adults Should Be Legal
Year:

% agreement
Now: 60%
1996: 44%
1986: 33%
1977: 33%
