Here's an article by Eugene Volokh on exactly what a definition of a slippery slope is (will allowing some potentially desirable thing A to happen increase the probability of some undesirable thing B happening), and what to do with them.

Think Camels Noses, Driving a Wedge, Opening the Floodgates, Slippery Slope, and Acorns growing into Trees.
